Community Service

No business is an island.  It must be fed by a strong ecosystem, and in return contribute back to the community.  E-Motors Consulting has found involvement in engineering organizations like the IEEE  or the SAE to be strong pillars for a successful career.  Particularly important in E-Motors’ technical field is the IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS) and the IEEE Transportation Electrification Community (TEC).  Bruno is currently TEC Chair, and is past President (2011-2012) of IAS.

The IEEE Transportation Electrification Community is tasked with coordinating initiatives within IEEE concerning this subject, particularly in terms of standards, conferences, publications., and education material such as tutorials and webinars.

Of particular interest within the Industry Applications Society, have been the Electric Machines Committee and the Transportation Systems Committee, part of IAS IPCSD department, as these two technical committees deal with these two topics to considerable depth.  Meetings and conferences relevant to these subjects are:

Bruno is also patinate about sharing the benefits of IEEE across the world.  In this respect, he has been involved with PowerAfrica, a conference dedicated to electrical power and applications in Africa.  Bruno currently shares their steering committee.  Bruno is also involved with IEEE SmartVillage, whose mission it is to help develop entrepreneurship in developing nations, usually centered around electrical projects.  Bruno shares the SmartVillage Safety, Quality, Reliability and Standards Committee.

Such involvement can also be at the local level, with chapters such as within the IEEE Milwaukee section or with standards.
